Bridal Party Gifting

They’ve been by your side through your relationship together and happily agreed to stand with you as you tie the knot, so it seems only natural to treat them to a little something special. Bridal party gifts are a staple of wedding etiquette, and for good reason! Your bridal party knows you love and appreciate them, but expressing that is important as well. There are three general categories I like to think of when it comes to gift giving, which are a great starting point when brainstorming ideas for your bridal party. Once you have a general idea, you can narrow it down and even put your own unique spin on your bridal party gifts.

  1. Day-Of and Beyond Gift: Similar to the above category, this gift is an item your bridal party will use for the day of the wedding but can also be used after. Accessories for bridesmaids and groomsmen are one of my favorite gift ideas in this category. Not only are they great for the wedding day, since they will tie together everyone’s ensembles, but they will most likely be items that can be used afterwards. For the ladies, jewelry, hair accessories, or even shoes are a special gift that are also versatile enough to be worn again. For your gents, a tie clip, pocket squares, or coordinated socks are a few great choices.

  2. Day-Of Gift: This is something your bridal party will most likely use one time, on the day of the wedding. This gift could be anything from the bridesmaid’s dress itself to custom shirts, or even a bottle of champagne to share in the moment. Don’t limit yourself to physical items, either! An experience is another great way to show your bridal party you care, be it mani-pedis, a massage, or breakfast together on the morning of the wedding.

  3. Keepsake - Sentimental gifts are an amazing way to show your bridal party how much you appreciate them and what they mean to you. This type of gift focuses on the personal relationship between you and each member of your bridal party, and gives you more options of ways to customize your gift. Something like a framed photo of the two of you or a heartfelt note will go a long way in showing your appreciation.

Gift giving can be difficult, especially in the midst of planning a wedding, but taking that extra step to thank your bridal party for making your wedding day even more special is definitely important. It doesn’t take a lot of money or time to give your bridal party something they’ll cherish, and the gesture in itself goes a long way in showing your appreciation.
